Loosely regarded as semi-solid in that they have a solid wood top that is only 1mm thick with a High Density Fibreboard (HDF) base and “Unilin” click system as used with Laminate floors. This product has the look and warmth of solid wood with the durability of laminate. Prices range from £23 m 2 - £100m 2 .

Laminate Floors

This floor type has developed extensively over the last number of years. Boards are now available ranging from classic 120cm long by 20cm wide wood block style to wood planks 60 – 150cm long by 10 - 15cm wide. Laminates are also available in tile effects. All laminate boards are now put together using glueless click systems. The majority of our suppliers use the “Unilin” system which we still regard as the gold standard. Our suppliers include “Quickstep”, “Pergo” and “ Modena ”. Laminate floors are generally very durable and suitable for most areas although we do not recommend them for bathrooms. Prices range from £10 - £28m 2 .
